Marta E. Plonska-Brzezinska received her Ph.D. in Chemistry at the University of Bialystok (2005). After a Doctoral Research Fellowship at the University of California, Davis, working with Prof. Alan Balch and a Postdoctoral Fellowship at the University of Clemson, working with Prof. Luis Echegoyen, she has come back to her Alma Mater. Currently, she is working at the Medical University of Bialystok since August 2018, as a Head of Organic Chemistry Department. Since 2021 she has been a Full professor. Marta maintains active research collaborations with US, Ukraine, Spain, Germany, Greece, Iran, and Poland researchers. She holds a very active research program interested in carbon nanostructures, fullerene electrochemistry, and materials chemistry, focusing on porous structures, nanocomposites, and their applications in electrochemistry, catalysis and biomedical fields. She has published around 90 research articles. The Ministry of Science and Higher Education, Poland (Habilitation Award, 2015) and the Polish Academy of Sciences (Branch Bialystok & Olsztyn, 2018) awarded her for her scientific work.
